Styled Sundays | White Party Edition

This past weekend I had the opportunity to assist some ladies for their college's annual white party. For the top left we decided to go with a minimal pant suit look. Below her we went for a sexy blazer outfit. Top right was a unique tight fitting dress paired with simple accessories. Bottom left we chose this cape styled dress from Misguided and popped a neon color to complete the look. Needless to say, these ladies made statements last night, and I had the pleasure of working with them! Don't go through the hassle of having to figure out an outfit on your own, get styled by Tashjmackk!

IT WAS A SUN[NY] DAY

Old Navy white blouse | Urban Outfitters jean shorts | Vince Camuto boots | Old Navy clutch purse

It was a beautiful sunny day in NYC yesterday so I HAD to take advantage! I was finally able to give my legs some vitamin D, and add a pop of color to my outfit. I attended a picnic at the Riverbank Park in Harlem, where my Vince boots were the center of attention. I kept it casual with this white summer essential blouse and some much needed Jessica Simpson sunnies. I can't wait to really dig into my summer closet and share it with you guys!

Style Muse of the Month | March 2015

The Mixed Mannequin Blogger

Ok so my style muse for this month features someone who i've been eyeing for quite some time now. Clarissa Forde, who is known as The Mixed Mannequin, has a tom-boy chic style that is hard to go un-noticed. I was intrigued by her ability to layer a number of jackets in the winter and still look so effortless doing it. With me relocating to the NYC area, I had to meet up with her immediately to talk about all things fashion, and what she has in store for us!

Tashjmackk: So first tell us, what is your name and age?

Hey my name is Clarissa Forde and I am 20 years old.

Tashjmackk: Where are you from and reside currently?

I am currently living in The Bronx, NY. I was born and raised here as well.

Tashjmackk: So if you had to describe your style in two words, what would those be?

If I had to use two words to describe my style it would be Tomboy Chic. I love the mix between men's fashion and women's fashion.

Tashjmackk: Speaking of fashion, who are your icons in the industry?

I have a few style icons but I really admire Vashtie and Teyana Taylor's style. They nail the tomboy chic look every time.

Tashjmackk:  So if I was TheMixedMannequin, where would I shop?

Some of my favorite shops are Forever 21, H&M, Zara, NastyGal, and Goodwill! I really love to thrift!

Tashjmackk:  What is one closet staple that you just cannot live without?

I definitely cannot live without my leather moto jacket! It adds an edgy flare to ANY outfit. A leather jacket is a must have for every girls closet.

Tashjmackk: So what is your ultimate fashion dream/ career goal?

My ultimate goal is to inspire before I expire. I want to use my passion for fashion and helping others to change the world.

Tashjmackk:  Let's talk more about this amazing wardrobe of yours! What is your current favorite trend at the moment?

My favorite trendy piece right now is the Bomber jacket. I'm not a Kim K fan but I do love how she pulls it off.

Tashjmackk: What is the most recent addition to your wardrobe?

The last thing that I purchased was a huge statement necklace. I love statement pieces!!

Tashjmackk:  So if you had to give any girls advice when it comes to fashion and finding their style; what would you tell them?

My advice to girls breaking into the industry would be to never stop networking and to never give up! Feeling discouraged is absolutely normal but don't let it blind you from the bigger picture. To girls trying to find their own style, my advice is to just be yourself and allow yourself to be inspired. Inspiration is beautiful. Just don't copy every piece. Take what you like and make it your own.

Tashjmackk: Speaking of inspiration from others, give us some Instagram must-follows!

I love FashionBombDaily.com and their Instagram as well. @fashionbombdaily is the Instagram account that every fashionista must follow!

Tashjmackk: So what's next for you and The Mixed Mannequin?

I wish that I could tell you guys what to expect next but I love surprising people. Big moves are in order!

Tashjmackk:  How can we stay up to date with you?

A Day In The City

Ebay Bomber/ Flight jacket | Old Navy jeans (distressed by me) | H&M boots | H&M v- neck & shirt
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saying that it's March and it's STILL freezing in NYC, I kept warm by throwing on this puffy flight jacket that I ordered from Ebay. These H&M boots were only $34 and they are super comfy for my commutes to class.

Hopefully I will be able to ditch the jackets in the next month or so! Until next time.
